GENERAL INFORMATION
For a good cause: The 2011 Mighty Kids Triathlon is a nonprofit event and all profits will be donated to Care and Share of East Lyme, which provides food, financial, and emergency support to families and children in need in the East Lyme Area, and to the East Lyme Aquatics Scholarship Fund.
Directions to Rocky Neck State Park: Exit 72 off I-95. Follow the turnpike connector south to Route 156. Turn left and take Route 156 east for 1/4 mile to the park. The park street address is 244 West Main Street (Route 156). Once inside the park, follow the signs to the beach.
All vehicles entering the park will be subject to the Rocky Neck State Park parking fees: $9 for CT residents; $15 for non-CT residents.
Race Photography: Participants will be photographed at various times during their race to capture lasting moments. These photos will be available for purchase online after the race. Sign up for a chance to win a free digital photo during registration and you will receive an email when the photos are ready, or you can refer to our website: www.jmachtphotography.com
Race Timing: Race timing will be done by The Last Mile. Racers must be wearing their bib when they cross the finish line
Post event: After the Race there will be great food and music in the park. Stick around and enjoy all that Rocky Neck State Park has to offer!
Awards: Each participant will receive a finisher's medal upon completion of the race!! Awards for top 3 finishers in each age group both Male and Female will be given out at the completion of the entire race. Please stick around for the award ceremony, good food, and good music!
Volunteer Information: As always a race is as successful as the quality of its volunteers. If you would like to volunteer in any capacity please contact the race director at racedirector@mightykidstri.org
USAT MEMBERSHIP
This is a USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned race. Therefore, for insurance purposes, all participants are required to be USAT members and all participants are required to sign the USAT waiver -- NO EXCEPTIONS. The cost for an annual USAT youth membership is $5, and it will allow you to race at any USAT sanctioned race. We encourage you to Join USAT online, as it will make the registration and check-in process easier.
- If you became a USAT member for last year’s Mighty Kids Triathlon, you must renew your membership in order to race in 2011.
- Bring your USAT Membership Card to the race/packet pickup. We must verify that you are an active USAT member. If you join USAT online shortly before the race a temporary membership card will be available to print out and bring to the race. Children that are not active members of the USAT or that have forgotten their membership cards will be required to sign-up again at registration and pay the $5.00 fee.
